Understanding The True Cause Acid Reflux Information You Can Really Use

By Kathryn Whittaker

Acid reflux is really just a symptom of an underlying condition. However, many conditions can cause acid reflux, which often makes it harder to treat. Among the contributing potential causes can be: hiatal hernias, pregnancy, defective lower esophageal sphincters, insufficient digestive enzymes, asthma, and lifestyle.

So, lets take a look at few of these

A hiatal hernia can cause acid reflux as a result of impairing the function of the lower esophageal sphincter. Hiatial hernias are a condition that occurs when the upper part of the stomach pokes through into the chest cavity via a small opening in the diaphragm.

The diaphragm is the muscle separating the chest from the stomach. This condition is usually the results from severe cases of vomiting, coughing, straining, or a sudden exertion. Obesity, pregnancy and advancing age also increase the risk of hiatal hernia. When hiatal hernia and acid reflux occur at the same time, symptoms of both tend to be more severe.

Pregnancy can cause acid reflux within the last trimester because as the baby grows, it puts pressure on the stomach, forcing some of the contents back up into the esophagus. In this case, antacids and other similar medications will not help to provide relief to heartburn symptoms. Instead, it is recommended that pregnant women eat smaller, more frequent meals so that there is never too much in the stomach. Once the baby is born, the symptoms will typically stop.

For similar reasons to pregnancy obesity can also cause acid reflux as the stomach becomes constricted by the excess weight.

Another cause of acid reflux is a defective lower esophageal sphincter (LES). This can easily cause acid reflux, due to a malfunctioning esophagus that does not effectively seal off the stomach from the lower esophagus, allowing stomach contents to rise up. A defective LES can mean that it is not strong enough to keep food in the stomach, or it may relax once food has passed through, allowing it to come back up again, causing the burning sensation and acidic taste.

Insufficient levels of digestive enzymes can also cause acid reflux as without sufficient volumes, digestion can become delayed. This results in food remaining in the stomach for longer, allowing stomach acids to build up and leading to a higher risk of acid reflux.

Even asthma is linked to acid reflux with there being evidence that asthma is both a cause and also a possible effect of acid reflux. The theory of asthma causing acid reflux, it can be explained by the coughing, sneezing, and other forceful respiratory events associated with asthma, pushing acid from the stomach into the esophagus. Some asthmatic drugs also list acid reflux as a potential side effect.

Of course, lifestyle can also have a tremendous impact on acid reflux. Your lifestyle choices can cause acid reflux through overeating, smoking, stress, and even the foods you eat such as salty or fatty foods. Solutions can range from changing your lifestyle, losing excess weigh, taking typical antacids that you see at the convenience store or drug store to more long term lifestyle changes.

Although this article has only touched on some of the underlying conditions and factors that cause acid reflux, it shows the diversity of potential triggers. Many treatments look at resolving the symptoms without tackling the underlying cause, which in the end will never solve the problem for good.

How To Enhance The Privacy Around Your Outdoor Swing

Submitted by: Rachel Dawson

A lack of privacy around your outdoor swing could frustrate your plans. Imagine an encounter with your sweetheart, out under the stars. Whispering in each other s ears, feeling the breeze tickle your necks . . . . Then the neighbor sees you and heads over for a chat. You like your neighbor, but you have other things on your mind at the moment. Or, at least, you did. After a half-hour conversation with the neighbor, you can t remember what you were doing. Your romantic mood has evaporated. Conversation about the overflowing sewer down the street has sapped your playfulness.

You might avoid a scenario like this one if you enhance the privacy around your outdoor swing. One way to encourage your privacy is to set up screens. Outdoor privacy screens typically involve several panels linked together with hinges. Screens offer several advantages. They cost less than a fence around your entire yard. Many screens are mobile, so one purchase could service different areas of the yard; just move the screen with you as you go. You can find screens that are more decorative than regular privacy fences. Some screens even have shelves for plants. Others incorporate detailing or rich colors.

An arbor provides a more leafy hideaway. You can buy an arbor or build one yourself. An arbor is a framework upon which you can grow plants. Some arbors are small, like the size of a doorway. Others can cover the area of a picnic table, or even a large back porch. Good plants for arbors include ivy, sweet pea, roses, honeysuckle, wisteria, morning glories, and more. The varieties you choose will depend on how much room you have and how shady or sunny the spot is where they will grow. Of course, measure your outdoor swing first to ensure that your arbor will be big enough, or if you are building your own, that you buy the proper amount of materials.

Shutters offer another option. If you have some old, tall shutters lying around, you can make your own screen. Give them a fresh coat of paint and install hinges. Set them up like you would a screen; bend the piece at its hinges so it will stand up on its own. If you don t have the right material, but you want to try this project, check yard sales or estate sales and auctions for suitable materials. If you know of a place to buy salvage wood and building materials, you might check there for possibilities. You could even combine different shutters for a unique look.

Some people go to great expense to enhance their privacy in their back yards, but you can achieve similar effects with a smaller expense. You can set up a screen around your outdoor swing. The screen may be a decoration in itself, or you may wish to buy a model with shelves for small potted plants. You can also install an arbor and grow climbing plants on it. The plants will provide coverage for you. If you like making things yourself, you can create a screen by hinging together tall shutters. You can take simple steps that will both increase your privacy and turn your outdoor swing into an adventurous hideaway.

Yoga Great Benefits}

Yoga Great Benefits

by

freetreasure

Yoga is one of the health and fitness programs that many people have learned to love and perform. Once people discover the good benefits from performing yoga, they cant help but resist the urge to also experience the good things it can provide.

Yoga is said to be able to help in cleansing the body and effectively eliminates body disorders. Yoga increases the bodys flexibility. Different yoga positions work on the different body joints, including those joints that we do not usually use and exercise. With the well-researched, tried and tested positions in yoga, the joints, tendons and ligaments are lubricated which allows ease in moving. There are people who have lacked exercise and some tedious body movements and their body become rigid after not having been used lately. There are yoga positions to once again put this body to work but not in a way that it will put strain on the body parts.

Massage is truly an exhilarating experience. Yet unlike the usual massage which only works on certain areas of the body, yoga is a fitness program that can massage all the body organs. By the thorough massage manner that yoga offers, even the organs which are hardly stimulated are stirred and moved by yoga. Yoga indeed can benefit the entire body, not just your back or your arms. The organs being massaged and stimulated can benefit us n more than one way. It helps our body in avoiding diseases, most especially.

Another great benefit of yoga is that it makes the body to become fully aware of diseases that are about to happen in the body. Future infections and sicknesses that are soon to affect the body are being forewarned to us through yoga. With this awareness, we can then take precautionary measures to correct the problem and totally eliminate the chance of getting sick.

Yoga also helps detoxify the body. With the muscles being stretch and the organs being lightly massaged, blood flows adequately to every part of our body. This way, the body is able to flush out and away the toxins that have accumulated in our body. Away goes the toxin so that nourishment will come in. This then leads to delayed aging process; the body becomes energized and relished.

Stretching the muscles will lead to their excellent toning. This is greatly beneficial to people whose muscles have gone weak and slothy as the flaccidity and flab will be shed away.

These are just a few of the amazing physical effects of practicing yoga. Yoga can also help keep and maintain the harmony between body and mind. When these two are in perfect harmony, there will be no doubt that you will experience fantastic results.

Yoga also involves meditation, aside from the body stretching positions. Through proper meditation, the mind is helped to focus, concentrate and synchronize with the body. With meditation, we are able to work and achieve our goal in uniting the mind, spirit and body towards good health. Meditation also helps us ease any emotional imbalance that we may have inside us. It helps us to feel calm, relaxed and have a positive perception in life.

Yoga has numerous good effects on the body, not just physically but also intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. Visit Fitness.com.au today to look for health establishments that can offer yoga,

The Wooden Garden Shed

By Will Dyke

There are many different substrates to choose from when building a shed, such as metal, concrete products, vinyl and my favorite, wood. Metal can be good but is not a good insulator and metal buildings get very hot compared to wood built structures. Wood in my opinion looks far better than all other materials and you have many choices when working with wood. I suggest using cedar for your outdoor wood, as it will never rot and termites do not like it. Also wood is an organic material that just seems to be more proper for a garden shed. Wood can be sealed and painted to last for many years and is more easily repaired that other materials. It is also the easiest by far to work with, especially for the new do it yourself-er.

Your garden shed will help you to keep a better garden, remember organization is the one of the keys of success. You can keep all of your yard tools and gardening stuff in its place and out of your garage, or side of your house. Remember most garden sheds are usually not insulated or climate controlled so you shouldn’t keep climate sensitive things in it, like grandma’s antiques. Just make sure to build a big enough shed for your needs.

A shed can be a place of relaxation and it will reward you for your efforts. It will be a place to become one with your garden plants and can be a place for you to get away from everything. You can also hang some plants in your garden shed to keep it more inviting as you go to work in it. Many people are growing plants indoors with the use of lights. This can provide you with year round vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Just make sure your garden shed has electricity if you plan on growing indoors. Also a skylight installed in the shed would be a good idea, the more light the better. Always keep a fire extinguisher in the garden shed in case you need it, you never know.

Make sure to keep all bulbs, seeds, and such in sealed containers so they are out of harm’s way. Nothing like getting weevils in your seeds! You can also keep an electronic pest control device in the garden shed, they do work, just give them a couple of weeks and you won’t see any mice or rats! Lastly keep in mind that your garden shed will make your garden complete and will look nice in your yard. It will increase your property value and help sell your house if you ever put it on the market.

I have found myself spending many hours in mine and it has given me and my wife great pleasure. It makes gardening more enjoyable and is also a good place for the dog to hang out when the weather is bad. I put a pet door in so she can go in and out as she pleases! I hope you have enjoyed this article and now know why a wooden garden shed is a great choice when building your shed.

Barn Kits | Horse Barns | Run In Shed | Horse Stalls | Storage Sheds | Modular Garages

Barn Kits | Horse Barns | Run in Shed | Horse Stalls | Storage Sheds | Modular Garages

Considerations When Choosing Barn Kits

Barn kits provide a wealth of design styles to choose from, and often cost considerably less than having a custom built barn designed and erected on your property. Not all barn kits are right for every situation, so it is important to carefully consider your options, as well as the pros and cons of each style, before you make an investment. Ventilation, insulation, size, construction and placement are all aspects of your barn building project that can have costly consequences if not implemented properly from the beginning of your planning process.

Ventilation

Most barn kits made for housing horses have ventilation concerns well covered. More troublesome are garage kits and pole barns that are converted into stables with walls. Windows cut into the exterior of these types of buildings are often not enough to ensure proper movement of air. Stagnant air in your barn can not only increase the amount of odor and flies, but also cause respiratory problems with the horses stalled inside the building.

Insulation

Many people overlook this important aspect when choosing a barn kit. If you live in a hot area, the idea of insulation may not cross your mind. What should be kept in mind, is insulation not only keeps the cold out, but also keeps the heat out when properly installed. Areas of extremely high temperatures during the summer months require not only proper ventilation, but also appropriate insulation measures to prevent heat stroke of stabled horses.

Size

As with most things related to horse ownership, bigger is better when choosing a barn kit. Adding additions to some styles of barn kits can be very difficult, so it is best to plan ahead and ensure you have enough space to house your herd into the future. The stall size and aisles between stalls should be carefully planned, as most barn kits only include the outer building structure. Realizing you cannot fit the box stalls you choose after the barn kit is built can cause major headaches.

Construction

Nearly all suppliers claim easy construction as being the top benefit of choosing a barn kit over a custom built barn. Unless you have built a barn kit previously, spend extra time reading reviews from others that have purchased and installed the barn kit you are considering. Inquire with local builders the cost of installing your barn kit for you, as a simple mistake in the building process could result in larger problems in the years to come.
